The Punjab government has launched a large-scale operation against illegal weapons, directing police and law enforcement agencies to seize unlicensed arms and arrest those involved in their possession. The campaign is part of the province’s ongoing efforts to strengthen internal security and reduce crime rates.
Law Enforcement Mobilized
According to official sources, district police units have been instructed to conduct house-to-house searches, inspect suspected hideouts, and ensure strict monitoring of arms dealers. Special teams have also been formed to check the authenticity of issued gun licenses.
Government’s Stance on Law and Order
Punjab authorities emphasized that no leniency will be shown to anyone found carrying or selling illegal weapons. The crackdown is expected to continue until a significant reduction in the number of unlicensed firearms is achieved across the province.
