Maryam Nawaz Punjab Development: Key Highlights

Maryam Nawaz Punjab development initiatives are leading the province toward growth and modernization. Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with the 55th Staff Course delegation of Pakistan Navy War College, including officers from all armed forces and 15 friendly countries, led by Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmed Azmi.

During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz reiterated her government’s commitment to supporting Palestinian people and acknowledged the presence of Palestinian officers in the delegation. She also praised the Pakistan Navy’s crucial role in flood relief operations that have aided thousands of affected families across Punjab.


Transforming Health and Education in Punjab

The Chief Minister highlighted several ongoing Punjab government projects. Lahore is set to have the world’s largest government cancer hospital with 1,000 beds, to be completed within 10 months. Additionally, a Division-level Institute of Cardiology is under construction in Sargodha, while cardiac catheterization labs are being set up in 16 districts to improve heart care access.

In education, 55,000 students have received merit scholarships, and 73,000 laptops have been distributed under provincial programs. Women Empowerment and Safety

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that giving daughters confidence, opportunities, and support ensures their growth and development. She reaffirmed a zero-tolerance harassment policy, aiming to make Punjab a safe province for women.

The Chief Minister also highlighted urban transport improvements: 1,100 electric buses are being introduced for affordable and eco-friendly city travel at only 20 PKR per ride. These measures contribute to cleaner air and better city mobility.


Governance, Crime Reduction, and Relief Efforts

Punjab has achieved a 70% reduction in crime rates, with 16 districts reporting zero crime. Flood relief efforts have supported 2.5 million people, and anti-smog guns are being deployed to tackle air pollution in major cities.

Reflecting on her political journey, Maryam Nawaz shared that her father initially hesitated about her entering politics, but now she believes he would be proud of her achievements.
