Phase One of Air Punjab to Be Completed on Priority
The Chief Minister ordered immediate acceleration of all administrative, financial, and technical formalities related to the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Air Punjab Project. She directed the concerned departments to complete phase one without delay, ensuring that operations begin as early as possible.
Maryam Nawaz instructed officials to lease modern, comfortable aircraft that meet international safety and passenger service standards. She further highlighted the importance of adopting a transparent leasing process to secure state-of-the-art aviation equipment.

First Route Finalized: Lahore to Islamabad
The meeting finalized the initial flight route from Lahore to Islamabad, which will serve as Air Punjab’s pilot operational route before expanding its network to other major cities such as Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, and DG Khan.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister that discussions are underway with the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) to complete regulatory approvals, airport coordination, and flight operation permits.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Air Punjab should not only offer efficient service but also create employment opportunities and promote tourism in the province. “This project will bridge distances and boost Punjab’s connectivity, benefiting both citizens and businesses,” she remarked.

The project will offer a scenic, eco-friendly train experience for tourists visiting Murree, one of Pakistan’s top hill destinations.
She stressed that modern tourism infrastructure like the Murree Glass Train and Air Punjab will position Punjab as a hub for economic and recreational activity.
