Khawaja Asif Statement: Defence Minister Urges Unity Against Terrorism, Calls Out Afghan Govt Over Cross-Border Attacks

Khawaja Asif Statement Calls for National Unity Amid Rising Terror Threats

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif statement in the National Assembly on Wednesday underscored the urgent need for unity among political leaders and citizens to support Pakistan’s security forces. He said that the nation’s brave soldiers are laying down their lives for peace and stability, and it is high time that every political party expresses unconditional solidarity with them.

Asif stressed that while political debates can continue any other day, the fight against terrorism cannot be delayed. He emphasized that the current wave of violence, fueled by cross-border attacks, demands a united response from all segments of society.

Khawaja Asif’s Message to Afghan Government

During his speech, Khawaja Asif statement revealed that he had personally visited Kabul to meet his Afghan counterpart. He conveyed Pakistan’s deep concern over continued cross-border terrorism originating from Afghan soil. The Minister stated that the Afghan government had previously promised to address the issue but failed to deliver concrete results.

He mentioned that Pakistan made multiple attempts to hold peace talks with Afghanistan, but no meaningful outcome emerged. “It’s time Afghanistan takes real action instead of empty assurances,” Asif said, warning that Pakistan’s tolerance for such incidents is wearing thin.

He further revealed that a new delegation is being prepared to visit Afghanistan within days to make Pakistan’s position absolutely clear — that cross-border terrorism has become unbearable and must end immediately.

Millions of Afghans Living in Pakistan Must Follow the Law

Khawaja Asif statement also highlighted that millions of Afghan nationals have been living in Pakistan peacefully for decades. However, he warned that those providing shelter or support to terrorist groups would be dealt with strictly under Pakistani law.

He said, “Our patience has reached its limit. Those who harbor terrorists or remain silent in the face of violence are also complicit.” The Minister urged the Afghan government to take responsibility and ensure that no militant groups operate from its territory against Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Commitment to Security and Regional Peace

The Defence Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability but clarified that peace cannot come at the cost of national security. He said the entire nation must rally behind the armed forces who continue to make sacrifices to protect the country from internal and external threats.

“Our soldiers are being martyred daily while defending our borders and citizens,” he said. “This is not the time for political divisions; it is the time for unity.”

Khawaja Asif on India and National Pride

Referring to India, Khawaja Asif statement claimed that Pakistan’s resilience and strength have always frustrated its neighbor. “The way we defeated India in the past, they are still licking their wounds,” he said. Asif emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces deserve full recognition and respect for safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.

He concluded his address by calling upon lawmakers to express solidarity with Pakistan’s martyrs and “ghazis” (veterans), adding that the world admires Pakistan’s armed forces for their dedication and professionalism. “Those in power must openly support our soldiers and stand by the nation’s defenders,” he urged.
