Pakistan’s First Anti-Smog Gun Unveiled
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) has unveiled Pakistan’s first-ever anti-smog gun, a locally designed and engineered device aimed at reducing hazardous air pollution. The system uses high-pressure jets to release fine water mist that captures dust and particulate matter in the air.
A Breakthrough in Environmental Engineering
Developed by a team of UET engineers, the anti-smog gun operates by spraying microscopic water droplets, which help neutralize pollutants that cause smog. The project reflects the growing role of local innovation in addressing Pakistan’s environmental challenges.
Government Support and Implementation Plans
At the inauguration ceremony, environmental officials praised the initiative and expressed interest in deploying these devices across Lahore, Faisalabad, and other industrial cities to mitigate smog during peak seasons. The project aligns with Punjab’s clean air initiatives and could significantly improve urban air quality.
