Attaullah Tarar PTI Statement Sparks Nationwide Debate
Islamabad (October 11, 2025) — In a powerful Attaullah Tarar PTI statement, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of aligning itself with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Tarar claimed that PTI was slowly turning into the “armed wing” of the militant group — a statement that has ignited strong political and public reactions across the country.
During his press conference, Tarar said that elements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were deliberately hindering peace and stability. “Imran Khan and his party have stood by extremists on several occasions,” he asserted. “We cannot forget the sacrifices of our soldiers and innocent citizens who gave their lives to protect Pakistan.”
National Action Plan: Pakistan’s Shield Against Terrorism
Attaullah Tarar emphasized that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism framework — the National Action Plan (NAP) — was a promise made to the nation to eradicate terrorism from its roots.
He reminded the press that military operations like Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad were major successes under the NAP. “Our armed forces dismantled terrorist networks and restored peace with unparalleled bravery,” Tarar said. “The blood of our martyrs laid the foundation for today’s stability.”
Tarar reiterated that the Pakistan terrorism policy remains uncompromising. “Those who glorify extremists or question the sacrifices of our martyrs are, in reality, weakening the state’s foundation,” he stated firmly.
TTP and PTI Links: A Dangerous Alliance?
Referring to the alleged TTP and PTI links, Tarar accused the PTI government of allowing banned groups to re-enter political discourse during its tenure. “In 2018, extremists were given space and legitimacy under the excuse of dialogue. That move endangered national security,” he said.
He further added that political opportunism cannot come at the cost of national safety. “Every government and citizen must stand against those who threaten Pakistan’s peace,” Tarar insisted. “Supporting or sympathizing with terrorist outfits is not politics — it’s betrayal.”
‘Cult Politics Is a Curse,’ Says Attaullah Tarar
In his PTI statement, Attaullah Tarar also took aim at Imran Khan’s political style, labeling it as “cult politics.” He condemned slogans like “Imran Khan nahi to mulk nahi” (“No country without Imran Khan”) as dangerous for democracy.
“Pakistan’s progress depends on institutions, not individuals,” Tarar remarked. “No single person should be placed above the Constitution or state.” He emphasized that democracy thrives on accountability, not blind loyalty, and urged the youth to prioritize the country’s unity over personal hero worship.
Government’s Commitment to Peace and Stability
Tarar reiterated the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace under the Pakistan terrorism policy. He said that while terrorist threats still exist, Pakistan’s security forces remain vigilant and capable. “Our soldiers are the true protectors of this nation,” he added. “They are the reason we can talk about peace today.”
The minister urged all political parties to support national initiatives aimed at eliminating extremism. “No political difference is greater than Pakistan’s unity,” he said, calling on citizens to reject divisive narratives.
